Firm is looking for an eager, skilled Unix/Storage Engineer to join our IT team.

WE’LL TRUST YOU TO:

• Serve as a hands-on valued contributor to many initiatives within the infrastructure team and work closely with other teams (Networking, Databases, Windows, Web, and Desktop Support) to address issues and ensure problems are resolved in a timely and in an efficient manner

• Interact with different business units and product development teams within an organization in order to help launch new products and initiatives and to support existing infrastructure

• Maintain service coverage for the 24x7 production environment

• Follow industry developments and trends and develop a clear vision of the information technology landscape to assist with making recommendations to management on advancing technology and improving stability

WHAT YOU BRING WITH YOU:

• University degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or a related professional record with a minimum of 5 years’ experience

• Financial Services technology industry experience is a plus

• Strong experience of Linux operating systems required (RedHat preferred)

• Experience with deployment and configuration automation tools, such as Ansible, puppet.

• Strong experience in Unix/Linux infrastructure, SAN/NAS and backup technologies

• Strong experience with VMware and cloud deployments.

• Programming languages and tools knowledge (Perl, Python, C, Java, Shell scripts)

• Experience and skill in troubleshooting and performance tuning hardware and operating systems for low latency environments and/or throughput

• Experience with LDAP, NIS, DNS, proxy

• Experience with market data distribution technologies and understanding of FIX protocol is preferred

• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills required to work closely with business partners, engineering, operations and vendors

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a service oriented mindset

• Quick learner, detail oriented; demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work

• Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others

• Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency
