JOB SUMMARY
The Merchandise & Procurement Officer is responsible for the timely procurement and delivery of products and the proper processing of assigned customers orders. They will perform professional-level purchasing tasks associated with purchasing, contract negotiations, scope of work development, interpreting and creating final contract documents involving a wide variety of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Determining the purchasing needs of
the company. Working with related personnel to forecast demand and evaluate
inventory levels, and take orders within the company.
- ·
Maintaining and reviewing all records
of purchased goods, including their costs, deliveries and inventories.
- ·
Evaluating prospective suppliers
before signing up to ensure they meet the company’s needs.
- ·
Attending trade shows and conferences
to gather information and get contacts of potential suppliers.
- ·
Comparing prices of goods from
different suppliers, analyzing sales patterns and inventory levels of existing
stock, and staying up to date on market changes that can affect the supply and
prices of goods.
- ·
Developing systems of control,
policies and procedures relating to procurement.
- ·
Reviewing service areas and potential
supplier rationalization.
- ·
Visiting suppliers’ sites to ensure
proper product manufacturing process.
- ·
Ensuring that legislative requirements
are understood and incorporated into controls, policies and procedures.
- ·
Ensuring effective delivery of
procurement services.
- ·
Preparation of request for quotation,
initiations to bid, requests for proposal and coordination of timely dispatch.
- ·
Support global sales team with local
activities as and when required.
- ·
Liaising and communicating with global
sales, marketing, operations and finance team in different time zones as and
when required by the business.
Requirements:
- ·
Bachelor’s degree
Required
- ·
Minimum 5+ years related
experience required
- ·
Excellent
knowledge of English (writing, reading and speaking).
- ·
Proven
proficiency in the procurement of works, goods and services in an international
context.
- ·
Strong project
management skills, including ability to provide strategic guidance, technical
oversight, prepare work plans, and manage budgets and project expenditures.
- ·
Proven
negotiation, multi-cultural, and inter-personnel skills, with experience and
ability to network with international and local personnel.
- ·
Excellent written,
analytical, presentation and reporting skills.
- ·
Problem solving
skills and ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- ·
Ability and
willingness to travel extensively regionally.
- ·
Proficient with Microsoft
Excel
- ·
Must be able to read and write in Mandarin.
- ·
Legal
work status in Hong Kong
